Neuwied Zoo opened its doors to the public in 1970. At that time it was still a private zoo. The "Hubertushof Zoo". Today is the Neuwied Zoo largest zoo in Rhineland-Palatinate. The Garden of Butterflies is located in Sayn Castle Park, opposite Saynburg Castle. If you like it a bit wilder, visit the game park at the Remstecken forester's lodge. Here you can observe wild boars, deer, fallow deer and pheasants, among others.
